Ven. Drubpön Ngawang and H. E. Tsaptrul Rinpoche

The visit

The Drukpa masters Venerable Drubpön Ngawang, His Eminence Tsaptrul Rinpoche and Lama Kunga visited the Hanseatic City from 21st to 22nd September 2009.

On both days they gave teachings about “Meditation and Visualisation“. On this occasion many participants enjoyed the opportunity to be inspired by Guru Vajrasattva. Furthermore, we celebrated a Shapten Life Release on the river Elbe on 22nd September in order to pray for a long life f H.H. This event was blessed by both H.E. Tsaptrul Rinpoche and Drubpön Ngawang.

The persons

Venerable Drubpön Ngawang Tenzin is the European representative of the entire Drukpa order. He continuously promotes the distribution of the Drukpa teachings in the whole of Europe. He visits Hamburg for the fourth time. In 2007 H.H. the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa has raised Ngawang Tenzin into the position of a “Drubpön“, which means as much as “Perfected Master of Spiritual Practice“. When he was nine years old H.E. Tsaptrul Rinpoche was recognized as the fourth incarnation of the first Tsaptrul Rinpoche from the 17th century. Today, he is the head of the Khampagar monastery in Tibet where he performs several duties and always acts for the benefits of the Drukpa order.
