Venerable Drubpön Ngawang Tenzin

About the visit

During his visit at the beginning of May Drubpön Ngawang Tenzin has given very lively and profound teachings in the Mahamudra-meditation. One aspect of this meditation-method is to disband the manifold concepts of mental activity to finally experience the true nature of one´s own mind.

Drubpönla led the attendees in his precise and thoughtful way through the vastness of Dharma. He talked about the “untamed mind“, our karma, originated from wholesome and unwholesome activities – and the associated obstacles on the path to liberation.

The experienced meditation master attached great importance to a solid basis: the correct meditation posture as well as the method of the calm abidance of the mind, the Shine-meditation.

With simple, memorable pictures he pointed out the strength of realization which we need to observe and finally perceive the mind in it´s own nature.

Drubpönla teached about the meaning of the six Paramitas for the accumulation of merit and wisdom and practized repeatedly the Guru-Yoga-practice with the attendees and explained thereby the preliminary practices (Tibetan. Ngöndro) which are completely contained therein.

As highlight of his Mahamudra-teachings Drupönla commented on the precious writings of the fourth Gyalwang Drukpa Künkhyen Pema Karpo (1527-1597).
