His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa in Hamburg -
"Just Live To Love"

In a multitude of interviews, talks, visits and public appearances His Holiness has met many people from different social conditions and has touched and inspired them deeply.

He has prepared the ground for the further growth of Live To Love in Germany and has expressed at all opportunities the encouragement to take up the responsibility for one´s own life. In His direct and fresh way He has again and again pointed out the relatedness of all beings and situations in life and in an entirely undogmatic way opened up many meaningful perspectives. Especially impressive and moving were His visits of the penitentiaries Hahnöfersand and Fuhlsbüttel.

H.H. encouraged the inmates to use the time of their imprisonment in a spiritual way. He explained the positive possibilities which arise from anchoring one´s consciousness in the present. If the inmates would thereupon practice to let go of their past as well as learning to forgive themselves and others, the Gyalwang Drukpa said, this would lead as a natural result to a big increase of energy.

With this method it would be possible for them to create themselves a positive future. Underlining this His Holiness used the example of people having spent a very long time in prison practicing in this way and finally emerged totally changed, even becoming an inspiration for society.

The Kung Fu performance of the Drukpa nuns was the cultural opening of the three-day program with His Holiness at the Curio Haus in Hamburg. The powerful yet graceful Chöd-Dance made an especially deep impression on the audience.

The November 9th was a happy omen, being the anniversary of the founder of the Drukpa lineage, Tsangpa Gyare the 1st Gyalwang Drukpa.

Honored by a markedly generous gesture of the Hamburg Ethnological Museum, its director Prof. Köpke displayed a precious and antique statue of Tsangpa Gyare and related in a very vivid way the poetic story of how the museum did acquire it.

His Holiness was moved as well as delighted and felt like this was a self-evident affirmation of His natural relation to Hamburg.

"Faith-Love-Mind – how do we make a better world?" was the topic of a talk with His Holiness.
Manfred Bissinger (consultant, publicist and editor) moderated a very lively and inspiring exchange with the Gyalwang Drukpa, Dr. Maria Schneider (Creative Director Autostadt Wolfsburg), Bernd Kauffmann (Chief Representative Neuhardenberg Foundation) and Lars Haider (Chief editor Hamburg Abendblatt). The wealth of each individual´s viewpoints lead to quite an extension of this originally hour-long planned segment of the program. The enthusiastic feedbacks also confirmed the wish to entrench this kind of talks in the media in the future.

The magnificent documentary of Wendy J.N. Lee „Pad Yatra: A Green Odyssey" is a testimony of the exemplary activities of His Holiness. All spectators were very moved in a literal sense.

In the public talk "An uncommon path" His Holiness pointed to the tremendous importance to know how to deal with one´s mind skillfully. Only through that a stable attitude would be possible from which helpful actions could derive.

His Holiness dedicated a whole day to the topic "Finding Self-Confidence in refuge". The Gyalwang Drukpa defined a very broad scope and introduced an universal spiritual way, supported by love and wisdom, beyond all religious or dogmatic limitations.
